With expertise in evidence-based approaches to trauma healing, Mary Kay treats individuals, couples, and families. She begins with each client’s unique strengths and goals, drawing on their values to help increase resilience and improve relationships. She is licensed to serve clients who live in Ohio, Illiniois, and Maryland.

Therapy is an opportunity to work together and discover inner resources to promote healing, growth, and recovery. Mary Kay approaches every client and family with humility, compassion, and respect. She provides client-centered, evidence-based psychotherapy for clients and families with diverse needs, challenges, and diagnoses.
Mary Kay encourages and supports clients to make use of the resources provided by their faith tradition and spirituality, as appropriate.
SPECIAL POPULATIONS
With a strong commitment to promoting peace, social justice, and cross-cultural understanding, Mary Kay has lived overseas in Africa, Asia, and Europe. She brings that personal experience of living overseas to her work with refugees and immigrants, veterans and active military service members and families. Mary Kay has helped clients and families in law enforcement and working as first responders, as well as families impacted by the opioid crisis. Mary Kay has worked with teens and adults in the LGBTQ+ communities.
EFFECTIVE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
Mary Kay teaches and supports clients to develop skills for improved resilience, coping, interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, stress and anger management, executive functioning, self-care, sleep, and mindfulness.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Mary Kay Rehard, MSW, LISW-S, BCD, holds a Bachelor’s degree from Xavier University and a Master of Social Work degree from University of Cincinnati, where she specialized in direct practice and mental health, with a focus on trauma healing. Mary Kay has had her own private practice since 2016, with intensive training in diverse settings and populations, including older adults, veterans, youth and families. She is qualified to provide clinical supervision to licensed social workers in training. She is independently licensed as a clinical social worker in three states: Ohio (LISW-S), Illinois (LCSW), and Maryland (LCSW-C). Mary Kay holds the Board Certified Diplomate (BCD No. 60839) from the American Board of Clinical Social Work (ABCSW).
